What was at stake.
The utility, the owner and the EPC contractor each had a schedule. None of them agreed. Transformers had long lead times, outages on the transmission line had to be booked months ahead, and the campus could not energize without both.
How we controlled it.
What our schedulers and cost engineers did on this project.
Utility work integrated
We built the utility's engineering, outage windows and relay testing into the owner's master schedule as real logic.
Transformer tracking
Each power transformer was tracked from factory test through shipping, setting, oil fill and testing.
Outage windows locked
Transmission outage requests were planned backward from energization, with the dates confirmed early.
Risk weekly
A weekly risk review kept the top ten threats to energization in front of every party.
The result.
Most data center delays start at the fence line. We put the substation at the center of the schedule, where it belongs.
