What is at stake.
Tunnel boring machine progress drives everything, and ground conditions change by the mile. A month of slow mining moves the whole program. The contractor reported progress in feet, but no one tied those feet to cost or to the finish date.
How we control it.
What our schedulers and cost engineers are doing on this project.
Mining rates by reach
Each tunnel reach carries its own expected mining rate from the geotechnical data, so the schedule knows where the hard ground is.
Earned value on feet
Footage, segments and shafts feed earned value, so SPI and CPI tell the owner the truth every week.
Risk on ground
Monte Carlo analysis on mining rates and machine downtime gives the owner a P80 date it can plan around.
One data source
Machine data, daily reports and the P6 schedule flow into one database and a weekly dashboard.
Where it stands.
Underground, you cannot see progress. You can only measure it. So we measure every ring the machine builds.
