What was at stake.
The plant fed operating rooms, intensive care and imaging. Each cutover needed temporary equipment, clinical sign-off and a backout plan. The original schedule listed the cutovers as one-day activities with no logic to the temporary systems behind them.
How we controlled it.
What our schedulers and cost engineers did on this project.
Cutovers mapped
We mapped every load the plant served and built each cutover as a chain: temporary feed, switch, test, sign-off, removal.
Mission critical method
Data center style integrated systems testing was scheduled for the hospital, so every generator was proven under load before go-live.
Hour-level scripts
Each shutdown was scripted hour by hour, walked through with facilities and clinical leaders, and tracked live on the night.
Cost tracked weekly
Temporary equipment rentals were the largest cost risk, so we forecast them weekly against the remaining cutovers.
The result.
We scheduled the hospital plant the way we schedule a data center: nothing goes live until it has been tested under real load.
