What was at stake.
Equipment from four countries had to land in a set order. The building schedule and the equipment schedule had never been joined. Every late container pushed a line, and every pushed line threatened a launch.
How we controlled it.
What our schedulers and cost engineers did on this project.
Equipment and building joined
We merged the EPCM equipment plan with the construction schedule, so each line showed its true critical path.
Container tracking
Each shipment was tracked weekly against its required on-site date, with float shown in days.
Line by line start-up
Commissioning and food safety approvals were sequenced line by line, so early lines started earning sooner.
Forecast honest
Monthly cost forecasts showed the real final cost, including expediting, before anyone asked.
The result.
A production line is not done when it is installed. It is done when it makes product that can ship.
